It has carried out the project "REATTI-VAIA - Sustainable and homeo-dynamic building based on innovative assembly techniques, reactive materials and recovery of Vaia wood with a circular economy and Industry 4.0 in mind" financed with the Decree of the Head of the ERDF Management Area no. 39 of 13 February 2020" within the framework of the POR ERDF 2014-2020, Axis 1. Action 1.1.4 referred to in Resolution No. 711 of 28 May 2019.

The experimental R&D project, part of the "Sustainable Living" intelligent specialisation, saw the participation of companies active in the building sector, which were involved in the processing of the Vaia planking, the casting of the screeds, the architectural design, and the identification of reagent materials, with the technical-scientific support of Fondazione Fenice, for energy performance, and the HIT Interdepartmental Centre of the University of Padua.

In particular, the combination of natural and/or controlled recycled materials has led to the creation of systems of walls, roofs of buildings and parts against the ground, constituting the external envelope, capable of achieving:

(a) particularly important energy and cleaner performance,

(b) total sustainable circularity,

(c) limited thicknesses.

These performance characteristics can significantly improve the energy standards required by current regulations, leading to NZEB buildings that can be classified as 'active', drastically reducing energy consumption.

Finally, the production of these materials is carried out by Italian industries that have improved their plants and reduced their environmental impact.

The public contribution to the operation amounts to €348,536.23, broken down as follows:

  • FDA Srl: €67,298.33
  • Spigolon Imballaggi Srl: €111,100.13
  • Creativa Srl: €66,322.98
  • Sistene ESCO Srl: €17,290.55
  • Materia Prima+ Srl: €27,500.00
  • Fiel Spa: €10,894.23
  • Phoenix Onlus Foundation: €47,590.03
